My name is Niek van het Erve and I have been working as an osteopath at IMC Gimborn since 2018.
In 2014, I received my bachelor of science in physical therapy from the University of Arnhem and Nijmegen. After college, I started working right away. I settled down just across the border in Kleve in a primary care practice specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation. There I was also in charge of operations. I was also active in amateur soccer for four years as a physical therapist. My hobbies include cycling, good and healthy food and golf.
As of November 2021, I earned my master of science in osteopathy at the International Academy of Osteopathy (IAO) and at Buckinghamshire New University. This is a 4-year master’s degree program in Ghent (BE) and Buckinghamshire (UK). I wrote my master’s thesis on “osteopathy as integrative therapy in women after breast cancer.

Indeed, in practice I encounter many misunderstood complaints, where I now have more knowledge, skills and techniques. Consider, for example, misunderstood pain and symptoms that keep recurring. The osteopath looks beyond the local symptoms and looks for the cause of the problem. This holistic perspective really appeals to me and ensures that the patient is better served in the long run. Whether adults, children or babies.
My challenge is to work with my colleagues and you to see how we can best identify your complaint and provide appropriate treatment accordingly. By putting you as the patient at the center and taking into account multiple dimensions beyond just the complaint.
‘Moving is life and living is moving!’
My profession is my passion! Every day I am working on it. Searching for new scientific articles at home behind the laptop and scouring for the latest trends within healthcare. Or in the consultation room working with the patient to find the cause of the imbalance in the body. This passion creates an unprecedented drive to deliver the best patient care. I like to be an expert in all complaints and you can come to me then for many complaints. Jaw problems, irritable bowel syndrome (PDS) and unexplained abdominal pain are some of the areas I have recently been studying.
Therefore, I hope to meet you soon in our practice to assess your health problem.
